June Product Updates: NEW features, FRESH updates & more.
This month is all about giving you more control over how your content looks — and a much smoother way to get media into the platform. We're introducing a brand-new Columns component, fully customizable footers for Media Center and Website, fresh layout options for your lists and schedules, and a radically simpler upload experience in Mediabank.
Alongside the big stuff, we've tightened up tagging in Admin, made image captions visible, and cleaned up a handful of things across the platform. And since summer is just around the corner, there's a little send-off at the end.
Building & layout
Columns in Page Builder
You can now build far more flexible, modular layouts in the Media Center with a new Columns component.
Add anywhere from one up to five columns, then drag and drop to reorder them or to move content between them. Each column works just like the regular building space, so you can drop in a selection of content blocks:
- Heading
- Text
- Button
- Image
- Video
- Link list
Built one column exactly how you want it? Copy a block and drag it straight into the next column instead of rebuilding from scratch. Background color, spacing, and full-width background are all set on the component itself and adapt automatically across the columns.
This opens up a lot of creative freedom for richer, more dynamic page layouts — and it pairs especially well with the new compact list view below.
Where to find it: Media Center → Pages → Edit or create a page → Add component (Basic) → Columns

Customizable footers for Media Center & Website
Until now, Media Center only supported our standard footer. It got the job done, but it was limited. Now you can build your own.
The new footer is available for both Media Center and Website, and it works just like editing any page. Open the edit mode and add whatever you need:
- Free text
- Link lists
- Social media links with icons (laid out vertically or horizontally)
- Columns, images, and more
Once you've added your content and saved, the footer automatically appears across your entire site — every page and every fixed area, whether someone is in the Program Catalog, the Screening Room, or the press room. No more rebuilding link lists component-by-component on individual landing pages.
For structuring footer content, the same approach as the Columns component above applies.
✏️ Note: This is the first version of the new footer, and it currently coexists with the existing default footer — everything you have today keeps working as before. We'll keep developing and improving the footer over the coming months.
Where to find it: Media Center → Left hand menu → Pages → Site Areas → Footer (at the top of the page listing) → add content and save → preview with Open in Media Center

A new compact list view
As a complement to the standard layouts, we've added a clean, text-based compact list view.
It's available for Latest Posts, Screeners, Press Events, Live Events, and Premieres, and it strips a list down to a tidy, space-efficient format. Because it takes up so little room, it's a perfect match for the new Columns component when you want to show more in less space.
Where to find it: When adding or editing a Latest Posts, Screeners, Press Events, Live Events, or Premieres component → choose the Compact list layout

Calendar view for Live & Premieres
Another new layout option: you can now display Live Events and Premieres in a dedicated Calendar View.
Because this content has a fixed broadcast date, the calendar lays it out beautifully — ideal for pages like "Premieres this month" or "Upcoming live broadcasts."
Where to find it: Media Center → Left hand menu → Pages → Live Events or Premieres component → Layout → Calendar View

A cleaner building space
A couple of small touches to make working in Page Builder more focused:
Minimize the menu — when you're deep in building a page, click the arrow at the top to hide the menu and give yourself more room to work. Open it again any time.
Homepage pinned to the top — your selected homepage now always sits at the top of the page list and shows its page name, so even a temporary homepage (say, "Temporary homepage for the Olympics") is easy to spot at a glance.

Mediabank & uploads
Universal drag-and-drop uploads
We've radically simplified uploading. The old dropdown — where you had to manually pick whether you were uploading a video, audio, image, or file — is gone.
In its place is a single smart drag-and-drop area. Drop in a mixed batch — a video, a few images, a PDF, all at once — and the system automatically detects each file type and routes it to the right process behind the scenes. Videos are transcoded, images get thumbnails, and everything keeps its metadata. Once files are added, we label each one with its detected type and format so you can see exactly what came in.
We've also rebuilt the upload technology under the hood: all uploads now happen in smaller chunks (multipart), which makes the whole process noticeably more stable and faster. If you accidentally close the window mid-upload, the process keeps running in the background.
Where to find it: Mediabank → open a collection → Upload (drag and drop your files)

Set video poster images directly in Mediabank
A feature you may know from the Screening Room is now available directly in Mediabank. If you're not happy with a video's auto-selected poster, you can change it.
Choose from nine automatically generated frames, upload your own image, or capture a frame directly in the video player. It's the same experience you already have elsewhere — now in one more place, by popular request.
Where to find it: Mediabank → open a video asset → poster image settings

Admin & editing
Tag filtering in Admin
As more of you tag your content, we've made those tags part of the internal Admin navigation.
Tags now appear as clickable chips on items in your Posts and Screening Room list views. Click a chip and the list instantly filters to everything sharing that tag, with the selected tag clearly shown. It's a fast way to navigate large libraries without building a search around it.
Where to find it: Admin → Posts or Screening Room → click a tag chip on any item

Format Painter in the text editor
A small favorite that saves a surprising amount of time. Our text editor now has a Format Painter — exactly like the one in Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
Select some text whose formatting you like, click the paintbrush, then apply that same formatting to any other text. No more reformatting by hand inside the editor.
Where to find it: Anywhere with the text editor (Posts, Page Builder text blocks) → Format Painter (paintbrush icon)

Improvements & fixes
Captions under images in Media Center
By request from several public-service customers, you can now display caption text beneath images in Posts, right alongside the existing photographer and copyright details.
The caption comes from the caption field you already fill in when uploading an image — we've simply made it visible.
⚠️This feature is enabled per Media Center, and once on, it applies across your images. Meaning, if you want this enabled, just email us at support@clipsource.com and we’ll fix it for you.
Where to find it: Enabled per Media Center (Super Admin setting); caption text is pulled from the image's caption field

Improved cookie management
We have stabilized and improved the reliability of our cookie preference handling. User choices regarding Statistics and Analytics are now processed with higher precision, ensuring Google Tag Manager and tracking scripts are correctly deactivated when opted out.
Mobile image fixes on post pages
We fixed a rendering issue where image sections on posts could appear as tiny, left-aligned icons on mobile. They now display at full, mobile-friendly width, stacked neatly underneath each other.
More reliable Word imports
We've stabilized the Word import feature. Importing documents that contain images (especially larger ones) is now much more reliable.
