September product updates: Passwordless login, easier content reuse & drag-and-drop uploads
September may be drawing to a close, but there’s still time for another round of product updates.
With IBC behind us, we’ve gathered a mix of new features and smaller improvements designed to make everyday work in Clipsource a little smoother. Let’s take a look!
New this month
Passwordless login for your users
Your registered users can now sign in to your Media Center and the Clipsource Portal without entering a password.
They simply enter their email address, request a secure sign-in link and click the link in the email. Each link can only be used once and expires after 15 minutes.
Regular password sign-in is still available, giving users the freedom to choose whichever method suits them best.
Where to find it: On the login page in your Media Center and the Clipsource Portal.

An easier way to find and reuse content
We’ve introduced updated content selectors across Media Center, Program Catalog and Book Catalog, replacing several of the older search and navigation interfaces.
When adding related media to a Media Center Post, you can now choose whether to link to content in Program Catalog, Book Catalog or Mediabank, or pull individual media files directly from them. This makes it easier to use the right content without first having to remember which source supports which action.
The updated selectors are also being used in several other workflows, creating a more consistent way to find and select programmes, books and media across Clipsource.

Drag-and-drop uploads come to Related media
The universal upload experience introduced in Mediabank is now also available when adding related media in Media Center and Screening Room.
Instead of selecting a file type before uploading, you can drag and drop supported files directly into the uploader – including mixed batches containing different types of files. Clipsource automatically identifies each file type and processes it accordingly.
Where to find it: Related media in Media Center Posts, Events and Schedule Changes, as well as Assets in Screening Room and Personal Screening Rooms.

Help journalists find the right screeners faster
Journalists using the Clipsource Portal can now filter videos by access level and download availability.
They can choose to view all content, focus on exclusive screeners available through their access, or browse public assets only. A separate filter makes it easy to show only videos they are allowed to download.
All accessible content remains visible by default, so public clips and trailers keep their existing exposure. The filters simply give logged-in journalists a faster way to find the material most relevant to their work.
Where to find it: On the main video overview at media.clipsource.com.
Smaller improvements worth mentioning
Editable season titles
You can now edit the title of a season directly in Program Catalog, making it easier to use descriptive season names rather than relying solely on season numbers.
Broadcast Day now visible in admin
Schedule administrators can now see the Broadcast Day setting applied to each channel directly in Admin. The setting remains read-only to protect schedule consistency, but you can contact Clipsource if it needs to be changed.
More assets at a glance
Screening Room Admin now loads 30 assets at a time instead of 15, reducing the need to repeatedly select Load more when working with larger catalogues.
Bug squashed 🐛
We fixed an issue where completing the first file in a multi-file upload could interrupt the remaining uploads. All files added to the same upload session will now continue independently until each one has either completed or failed.
That’s it for September!
