Clipsource signs global agreement with Discovery
18 August 2020 - Last updated 11 June 2024
Nordic media-tech platform Clipsource has signed a Global Framework Agreement with Discovery Networks. The Agreement makes it easier for the local Discovery businesses to sign up for, and implement, Clipsource’s solutions for media centres, marcomms CMS, and metadata sharing. The ultimate goal is to increase the awareness of Discovery’s programs and to help consumers find their favourite content.
Stockholm-based Clipsource is a supplier of media technology services to leading entertainment companies throughout Europe. The collaboration with Discovery has so far comprised the Nordic countries, Germany and France. The new framework agreement will help Discovery in its efforts to streamline the distribution of media and metadata for marcomms, at a global scale
Dan Willstrand, CEO of Clipsource said:
“As the competition for streaming media eyeballs intensifies, the need to distribute rich information about the programs increases. The more videos, images and metadata that are offered for each episode, the easier it is for consumers to find and understand the content. This is particularly important for content discovery platforms and search engines since their accuracy is dependent on information availability.”
He continues:
“We are very proud to have been selected as a partner to Discovery at this level. We have had a great relation with Discovery in the Nordics for years, and they have always inspired us to stay at the forefront of new technologies. Now we look forward to serving Discovery in many more markets.”
Clipsources services include:
A system for collection and merging of data from various internal systems into one coherent metadata structure and sharing process.
A new solution for automated distribution of rich Schedules and VOD data to external parties.
A “made for TV” Media Center for next-generation media relations, including secure screeners, media list management, press release distribution, event management, etc.
Anders Jemdahl, Director Procurement Nordics & Dplay Global, said:
"Clipsource has been a trusted partner of Discovery Nordic for a long time, and we needed a partner who we could rely on and be part of our digital transformation globally. Connectivity of data is a vital part of our media strategy across the Discovery Group, and Clipsource is the right partner for this."
